Kaffivagninn was founded in the year 1935 as a food truck located in the city center of Reykjavík. In the 50’s it moved to a house at the heart of the Reykjavik harbor where fisherman, students, taxi- and truck drivers would meet for food, coffee and cakes.
Today Kaffivagnin is the oldest restaurant in Iceland and our costumers have been with us for decades. Everything is still as it used to be, back in the good old days. The restaurant is still a popular destination among fishermans, drivers and locals that are now mixed with travelers from all around the world.
We are proud of our history and loyal costumers and welcome you to be part of it by joining the locals for a fish by the harbor!
